a pretend genius broadsuction
Johnny’s Tale
G David Schwartz

Johnny walked into the shop
With his baseball glove
Pounding in its pocket
He looked low and up above

The salesperson did approach him
“My I help you, sir,”
Johnny looked him up and down
Then he answered, “Sure”

I’m looking for some mink oil
A tube, a jar, a spray,
I’m looking for some mink oil
I need to buy today

The sales person simile and nodded
And led him to a shelf
Where Johnny picked a can of oil
And paid for it himself

For Johnny’s mother was not at home
To hear the blender whirr
It made a mess across the steps,
Where Johnny dropped her fur
